Three people gardening on a sidewalk's green patch near a stop sign.

RMC was formed in 2010 as local volunteer groups joined forces, pooling people and resources to restore long-neglected parks and open spaces across Roxborough and Manayunk. We are civic members, neighbors, ecologists, tree tenders, and gardeners who stepped in to fill the void created by decades of underfunding and neglect from city agencies.

What We Do

As volunteers, we clean and maintain 15 sites within the Roxborough Manayunk Community. In addition, we are researching appropriate methods to preserving our cliffs, hillsides and areas in proximity to our park areas as permanent green space areas to protect both the Wissahickon and Schuylkill Watershed areas.

Volunteer Service

We are powered by neighbors and professionals who volunteer their time—one hour at a time—to maintain and improve our parks. Our work spans ecological restoration and reforestation, including removing non-native invasive plants to strengthen ecosystem health and biodiversity, as well as creating beautiful gardens for all to enjoy. Whether you’re an arborist, a gardener, a carpenter, or simply someone who loves working outdoors for your community, we invite you to join us.
