Roxborough Manayunk Schools

Working with the Community Design Collaborative, neighbors and schools joined together to rethink our school yards.  Traditionally cement and hard surfaces surrounded our schools. The goal was to think green! Students, parents and teachers planned for what our schools could look like in a greener future.

The schools that were worked with are AMY Northwest, Cook-Wissahickon, Dobson and Saul High School. In addition, North Light Community Center joined in and completely revamped their yard based on the planning done by their Board, neighbors and young people.

All of the schools and the community center have incorporated education into the design and planting process.
